The Seimas forms political groups and appoints their chairs

Saulius Skvernelis, Speaker of the Seimas, called on the representatives of the political groups of the Seimas to make their statements on the formation of political groups and the appointment of their members to the Conference of Chairs.

Remigijus Motuzas MP made a statement on the founding of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party Political Group with him as Chair and MPs Tadas Barauskas, Ilona Gelažnikienė, Orinta Leiputė, Karolis Podolskis, Jurgita Šukevičienė and Violeta Turauskaitė as Deputy Chairs.

Robert Puchovič MP informed the Seimas of the setting-up of the Nemunas Dawn Political Group with Remigijus Žemaitaitis MP as Chair and MPs Robert Puchovič and Kęstutis Bilius as Deputy Chairs.

Linas Kukuraitis MP told about the establishment of the Political Group of Democrats ‘For Lithuania’ with him as Chair and MPs Rima Baškienė and Domas Griškevičius as Deputy Chairs.

Mindaugas Lingė MP notified the parliamentarians about the formation of the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrat Political Group with him as Chair and MPs Jurgis Razma, Audrius Petrošius, and Paulė Kuzmickienė as Deputy Chairs. The Group declared itself the Opposition.

Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen MP made a statement on the setting-up of the Liberals Movement Political Group with her elected as Chair and MPs Edita Rudelienė and Simonas Gentvilas elected as Deputy Chairs. This Group chose to join the Opposition.

Aušrinė Norkienė MP informed the Seimas about the formation of the Political Group of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union and the Christian Families Alliance with her as Chair and Rita Tamašunienė MP as Deputy Chair.

Viktoras Fiodorovas MP told about the founding of the Political Group of Non-attached Members of the Seimas with him elected as Chair.

In his turn, Gintautas Paluckas MP made a declaration on the formation of the ruling coalition, whereby the MPs belonging to the political groups of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party, the Nemunas Dawn, and the Union of Democrats ‘For Lithuania’ join into the coalition as agreed previously.
