Posters on the Lithuanian Armed Forces

       The exhibition, entitled The Lithuanian Armed Forces, is on show at the Visitor Centre of the Seimas. Posters created by professional artists promote active interest in and encourage public concern over state security-related matters. In their works, the artists portray the Lithuanian Armed Forces as a modern and reliable organisation, highlighting the exceptional status of servicemen, their duty to defend the homeland, and an important role they play in ensuring peace in Lithuania and beyond.

In the autumn of 2019, the Strategic Communication and Public Affairs Department of the Lithuanian Armed Forces came up with an idea to suggest that artists build on the tradition dating back to interwar Lithuania and create posters on the Lithuanian Armed Forces using contemporary forms of artistic expression. In cooperation with Vilnius Academy of Arts, students of the Department of Graphic Design, together with the artistic director, lecturer of Vilnius Academy of Arts, Marius Žalneravičius, created works for the exhibition aimed at artistically conveying the role and significance of the Lithuanian Armed Forces in our society.
