Launch of the Seimas’ updated website

Press release, 4 March 2019

4 March 2019 will see the launch of a new website of the Seimas. The website has become more modern. Taking account of the information most frequently searched for by visitors on the Seimas website, the structure of the information has been renewed, and the grouping and the layout of the information changed with a view to ensuring more intuitive and logical search. New pages and sections of the website have been created in order to complement the current content of the site with new information relevant to the visitors. For example, a general page of the parliamentary committees and commissions has been created where visitors will find information on the latest developments in all the committees and commissions, as well as meetings, broadcasts, issues under consideration, etc.

Depending on the visitors’ proposals, direct access to the most frequently searched information is provided in a quick and accessible way, offering information in a more clear and user-friendly manner.

The new website will better match the information technology requirements of today: it is aligned with mobile devices, thus it will be possible to find information quickly and in a user-friendly way using a mobile phone or a tablet. Information aimed at the general public and the media on the work of the Seimas and the Office of the Seimas will be made more attractive by presenting illustrated press releases. A Multimedia library has been created for the convenience of visitors, with video recordings of the Seimas sittings, press conferences and other events.

The site will continue to evolve in terms of both content and information. Once the new website is operational, the previous Seimas website will be also temporarily accessible for visitors’ convenience.

The reconstruction work of the website was carried out by the staff of the Office of the Seimas.
