Speaker of the Seimas congratulates Italy on Republic Day

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated Ignazio La Russa, President of the Italian Senate, and Lorenzo Fontana, President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, on Republic Day, the national holiday of Italy. She extended the wishes of unity, prosperity and inclusive wellbeing to the Italian Parliament and people.

‘A strong partnership between Italy and Lithuania is crucial for addressing important matters on the European and international agenda. Today, however, our both countries are needed by Ukraine. My belief is that, in close cooperation, we will build a strong and united Europe that is able to meet the challenges of the present,’ wrote Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen.
