Speaker of the Seimas congratulated Ireland on St Patrick’s Day

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated the Irish Oireachtas on Saint Patrick’s Day.

‘On the occasion of this national holiday celebrating the unity and resolve of the Irish people to fight for their aspirations, I wish the Irish Parliament and the Irish people every success in building the future of your country,’ the congratulatory letters to Jerry Buttimer, Cathaoirleach of the Seanad, and to Seán Ó Fearghaíl, Ceann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann, read.

The Speaker of the Seimas also noted that the cooperation between the Parliaments of both countries had grown in the recent years, which would further contribute to building the relations between Lithuania and Ireland.
