Speaker of the Seimas congratulates the re-elected Speaker of the US House of Representatives

Saulius Skvernelis, Speaker of the Seimas, has congratulated Mike Johnson, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, on his re-election and extended the wishes for political support and endurance in performing these responsible duties and in achieving the set goals.

‘Please rest assured that transatlantic relations are among the key foreign policy priorities for Lithuania in the face of a growing global threat to democracy, the international rule of law, and human rights. Lithuania believes that the United States will remain the global leader in supporting the world order based on democratic values and will further back the Baltic security initiatives and support for Ukraine,’ the congratulatory letter reads. The Speaker of the Seimas also assured that Lithuania will continue to develop close academic, cultural and economic ties with the US.
