Speaker of the Seimas met with US Senator Richard Durbin

On 20 February 2017, Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, met with Richard Durbin, Senator of the United States of America, on his visit Lithuania. The meeting focussed on the strategic partnership between Lithuania and the US and strengthening of transatlantic relations. Particular attention was given to the issues of Ukraine and security of the region.

Senator Durbin is an active supporter of Ukraine and acts as one of the two Co-Chairs of the Senate Ukraine Caucus. He sits on the Senate Judiciary, Appropriations, and Rules Committees. He is also a Member of the Defence Subcommittee. Richard Durbin is one of the most influential Americans of Lithuanian descent in the US politics.
