While addressing the Extraordinary Conference of Speakers of EU Parliaments, Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas, underlined the importance of European security and the situation in Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova.

“Security has no borders. We need to invest in our security space and maintain our focus on the Eastern Partnership countries. We need to boost support for Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, thus enabling them to join to the European project,” said Mr Pranckietis.

The Speakers of EU Parliaments met in Rome on 16–17 March 2017 to discuss the most pressing EU issues. The event was dedicated to the 60th Anniversary of the Treaty Establishing the European Community (The Treaty of Rome).
