Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated Latvia on Independence Day

On Thursday, 4 May 2017, Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas, on behalf of the Seimas and on his own behalf, congratulated Ināra Mūrniece, Speaker of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, on Independence Restoration Day. He wished every success and productive work to his counterpart and the Saeima, and prosperity to the Latvian nation.

“Concurrently, I would like to express my appreciation of the wonderful bilateral relations and particularly strong cooperation between Lithuania and Latvia. I am convinced that we will continue our close inter-parliamentary dialogue at bilateral, Nordic-Baltic and EU level,” wrote the Speaker in his congratulatory letter.

Latvia proclaimed the restoration of Independence on 4 May 1990.
