Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas, met with the delegation of the National Assembly of Kuwait

Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas, met with the delegation of the National Assembly of Kuwait, led by Shuaib Shabab Al-Muwaizri, Chairman of the Kuwait-Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Group. The cooperation between Lithuania and Kuwait and the security situation in Europe and the Middle East were discussed in the meeting.

The Speaker of the Seimas pointed out that Lithuania appreciated the efforts by Kuwait in advancing peace in the Middle East.

The meeting also focused on matters relevant to Lithuania and Europe, strengthening of ties with Kuwait, and cooperation on economy, science and culture. Mr Pranckietis believed that regular visits and political consultations bring countries closer together and promote trade and investment.

The Speaker of the Seimas invited the Kuwaiti delegation to visit Life Sciences Baltic 2018, which will be held in Vilnius. It is the only international forum in the Baltic region which introduces world-class biotechnologies, pharmaceutical developments and medical equipment. The event gathers managers and experts from around the world.

Kuwait is a constitutional monarchy with the oldest directly elected parliament in the Persian Gulf.
