The meeting also focussed on parliamentary cooperation, in particular, the opportunities to renew the functioning of the bilateral assembly. The last session of the Assembly of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland was held nine years ago.
‘This has been the fourth high level visit of a Polish official to Lithuania over the recent month. It implies that we maintain warm relations with our closest neighbour, which is crucial and beneficial to Lithuania, in view of information and cyber hostility from Russia and its military aggression in Ukraine,’ Mr Pranckietis said.
The visit of the Marshal of the Polish Senate is hosted by the Polish ethnic community in Lithuania.
