Speaker of the Seimas congratulated the Latvian Saeima on Independence Day

On behalf of the Seimas and on his own behalf, Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas, extended congratulations to the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia on the occasion of the national holiday – the Day of the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia. ‘The Declaration on the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia adopted by the Latvian Supreme Council on 4 May 1990 represented a courageous step. Thirty years on, the Declaration still serves as an inspiration for people to be responsible in shaping their own country’s history.

Although the current challenges have affected our daily lives and habits, I am convinced that we will emerge even stronger than before. Today, much like 30 years ago, we are and will continue to be stronger when we stand together,’ says the Speaker of the Seimas in the letter sent to Ināra Mūrniece, Speaker of the Saeima.
