Speaker of the Seimas congratulates Israel on Independence Day

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated Yariv Levin, Speaker of the Knesset of the State of Israel, and all the people of the country on Yom Haatzmaut, Independence Day of the State of Israel.

‘Expressing my personal admiration for your persistent, hardworking and homeland-loving nation, I wish your country lasting peace and long years of prosperity,’ the congratulatory letter reads.

The Speaker of the Seimas also notes in her letter the importance of cooperation between Lithuania and Israel.

‘The close relations between Lithuania and Israel, based on the rock-solid foundation of historical and cultural ties, serve well to develop the strong ties between our countries and citizens. We are looking forward to fostering and developing friendly and businesslike relations with the State of Israel,’ the Speaker of the Seimas said.
