Speaker of the Seimas congratulates Türkiye on the Centenary of the Republic

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye and its Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş on the centenary of the Republic of Türkiye.

‘A century ago, the declaration of the Republic of Türkiye laid the foundations for a modern state of today. That was a bold and decisive move. The current global challenges also call for courage and coaction to uphold the international law and democracy as well as to ensure human rights and international stability’.

‘Since Türkiye is an important NATO Ally of Lithuania, I am certain that we will work hand in hand to implement the values that unite our countries,’ the congratulatory letter reads.
