Speaker of the Seimas congratulates Poland on Independence Day

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, addressed her letters of congratulations to Elżbieta Witek, Marshal of the Sejm, and Tomasz Grodzki, Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland. On Independence Day, Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen wished the Polish Parliament every success and strength of will in building a prosperous future for the country.

‘Marking Independence Day allows us to reflect on the past, present, and future while expressing gratitude for the achievements of the country. Today, Poland and Lithuania are independent, strong, and proud members of the European family.

As we celebrate this solemn occasion, I would like to thank you for your contribution in fostering close cooperation between the Parliaments of our countries as well as for the solidarity demonstrated in the face of the challenges of today,’ the letter of congratulations reads.
