Visitor Centre of the Seimas

Information for Visitors

The Visitor Centre of the Seimas offers free guided tours of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania for organised visitor groups and groups of at least ten individuals; it also holds educational activities and interactive games for schoolchildren.

Registration for the above events takes place electronically.  

For organised visitor groups, guided tours are organised on working days at 10.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m.

For groups of individual visitors comprising at least ten persons, guided tours of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania are organised at 11.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month.

The guided tours begin at the Visitor Centre of the Seimas (Gedimino Ave. 60) and continue in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania (Gedimino Ave. 53).

Participants of the guided tour gain the knowledge about the Seimas as an institution and visit the Plenary Chamber of the Seimas as well as other halls that had witnessed the restoration of Lithuania’s independence, including the Hall of the Act of 11 March, the Constitutional Hall, and the Gallery of the Defenders of Freedom. The coverage of the parliamentary activities, legislative procedure and opportunities for citizens to participate in legislation is customised to visitor age.

 

 

GUIDED TOURS FOR ORGANISED VISITOR GROUPS

 

Group size: at least 10 persons, a maximum of 35 persons.

Duration: Guided tour – 1.5 hours; educational activities – 1 hour; guided tour + educational activities – 2 hours.

Availability: on working days, at 10.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m.

Languages: Lithuanian, English, Russian.

Confirmation of registration: failing to receive the confirmation of your registration within three working days, please contact us by e-mail: [email protected].

At the request of visitors, a meeting with a Member of the Seimas may be organised either at the Visitor Centre or at the Seimas, provided the request is made during the registration.

Registration: three working days before the event.

Identity document: admission to the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania is open for visitors upon presentation of a passport or an identity card; pupils must present a learner certificate.

The tours start exactly on time.

Group size: at least 10 persons, a maximum of 35 persons.

Availability: the first Saturday of each month, at 11.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.

Languages: Lithuanian, English, Russian.

Unfortunately, we are unable to hold guided tours for individuals and groups under ten persons. Where a group of ten persons fails to form, we invite you to get acquainted with the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania virtually by clicking on ‘Get to know the SEIMAS.’

 

VISITING THE JANUARY 13TH MEMORIAL

 

During the guided tours, participants can also visit a memorial to the victims of 13 January 1991 erected next to Building 2 of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. 

Individual visitors are invited to visit the memorial on Wednesdays at 17.00 p.m. and every first Saturday of the month at 12.30 p.m. This requires prior registration made no later than three working days before the visit.
