The Speaker of the Seimas invited Poland to join the project Mission Siberia. “It would be meaningful to pay tribute to the memory of people by involving the citizens of your country in Mission Siberia, which has been carried out for 16 years. Young people from Lithuania and Poland could visit the places of exile and alongside spruce up the neglected graves of Lithuanian and Polish deportees,” said Mr Pranckietis from the rostrum of the Polish Parliament.
Please find the full version of the speech on the website of the Seimas.
Mr Pranckietis is the third Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, who has delivered an official speech in the Polish Parliament. He was preceded by Česlovas Juršėnas in 1993 and Vytautas Landsbergis in 1997.
