Speaker of the Seimas congratulated Latvia on the Day of the Restoration of its Independence

On behalf of the Seimas and on his own behalf, Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas,  congratulated the people of Latvia on the Day of the Restoration of Independence of Latvia.

“Latvia, just like Lithuania, has been a free and independent State for twenty eight years now. At the same time we are celebrating the Centenary of our independence. Let us celebrate together and be proud that the Baltic sisters today are mature democratic countries, which, in a short time span, have achieved what they could have only cautiously dreamed of 30 years ago”, said the Speaker of the Seimas while congratulating Latvia.

On 4 May 1990, Latvia declared the restoration of its independence.
