Speaker of the Seimas, while on visit to Israel: “We strongly believe in the future of our relations”

Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas, while on his official visit to Israel, met with Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, Speaker of the Knesset. In addition to the close inter-parliamentary relations, they discussed the efforts to consolidate the intergovernmental cooperation in the “Government-to-Government” format.
The improved economic cooperation was discussed. Bilateral trade is increasing and the number of tourists from Israel is growing. There is visible potential for more cooperation in high-tech sectors such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, engineering industry, medical research and education.
Israel is Lithuania’s strategic partner in the region and, according to the Speaker of the Seimas, Lithuania attaches great importance to the relations with Israel and the Jewish community worldwide.
Following the meeting, the Speaker of the Seimas signed in the honorary guest book of the Knesset. “Lithuania takes pride in its outstanding personalities, famous artists, active state actors and all the Litvaks who have contributed to the development and prosperity of the State of Israel. We strongly believe in the future of our relations,“ the Speaker of the Seimas said.
