The EU Information Network in Lithuania disseminates information about the EU and Lithuania’s membership of the EU, making the data available to Lithuania’s inhabitants.
The foundations for the EU Information Network were laid by the establishment of the Information Centre in Lithuania in 1999 on the initiative of the European Commission Delegation to Lithuania in the framework of the PHARE project funding. The Centre currently operates as the Information Centre of the European Commission Representation in Lithuania and the European Parliament’s Information Office in Lithuania.
Since its launch in Vilnius, the Information Centre has developed a network throughout the country. A total of 51 Lithuanian town and district public libraries were equipped with racks of publications about the EU.
