Speaker of the Seimas congratulates Israel on its 75th anniversary of Independence Day

On her own behalf and on behalf of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated Amir Ohana, Speaker of the Knesset of the State of Israel on the 75th anniversary of Israel’s Independence Day. Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen wished him good health and strength, and conveyed her best wishes of peace, unity and prosperity for all the people of the country.

‘Israel is an important and close country to Lithuania. We are bound not only by our common interests and values and the goal to ensure comprehensive welfare and security of our citizens, but also, most importantly, by our cultural ties and people-to-people contacts.

I am convinced that the relations between our countries, underpinned by mutual respect and trust, and the close dialogue between the two nations will contribute to making our cooperation even more dynamic and to achieving greater comprehensive welfare and security,’ Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen stressed in her congratulations letter.
