Speaker of the Seimas congratulates the President of the Romanian Senate

Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated Mr Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă on becoming President of the Senate of Romania and wished him every success in bringing the Parliament together for meaningful endeavours for the future of Romania and its people.

Concurrently, Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen stressed that the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and the Senate of Romania had been significantly contributing to the successful development of the cooperation between the two countries. She added, ‘I am convinced that Members of the Lithuanian and Romanian Parliaments will continue their efforts to mobilise the international community by working on issues related to the European Union and NATO and on other important contemporary matters.’
