On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, the Speaker of the Seimas, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, has congratulated the Czech Republic on Independence Day. In her greetings extended to Miloš Vystrčil, President of the Senate, and Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, the Speaker of the Seimas emphasised the robust and amicable cross-border relations between Lithuania and the Czech Republic.

‘We focus on addressing security challenges and act in a spirit of solidarity in the fight for the principles that are vital to all who cherish freedom and democracy. I have no doubt that we will continue to develop parliamentary dialogue and open up even more opportunities for our countries to cooperate and for our people to get to know each other’, the letters by Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen read.

Concurrently, the Speaker has expressed her gratitude to the Czech Parliament for the Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform in Prague on 23–24 October 2023, unwavering support for Ukraine, and efforts to raise global awareness of the aggression and illegal occupation carried out by Russia.
