Speaker of the Seimas: the Lithuanian Armed Forces are emblematic of the power, dignity, and unity of our country

Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, extends her congratulations on behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf on the 105th anniversary of the restoration of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. In her words, this occasion offers a great opportunity to thank all the soldiers, officers, veterans, volunteers, riflemen, and the staff of the national defence system for ensuring the country’s safety.

‘The current geopolitical situation underscores the key role the Lithuanian Armed Forces play in ensuring that we live in a free, secure and independent country. Alongside many other tasks, our armed forces, together with NATO partners and allies, professionally perform the key mission of defending and protecting the state and the citizens of Lithuania. They are emblematic of our power, dignity, and unity. I am grateful for their courage, professionalism and determination, which inspires us, creates public trust and ensures a secure future for all. My best wishes to them for determination, good health and every success in the discharge of their responsibilities,’ says the Speaker.
