Speaker of the Seimas congratulated Albania on Independence Day

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, congratulated the Parliament of the Republic of Albania on Independence Day and wished it every success and unity in its future work for the benefit of Albania and its people.

In her letter to Ms Lindita Nikolla, Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen underlined that Albania and Lithuania are member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and work together in addressing the security matters of the democratic countries of the Alliance. The Speaker also added that Lithuania appreciated Albania’s achievements on its way to integration with the European Union.

‘I am convinced that the activities of our Parliaments will encourage the further development of cooperation between Albania and Lithuania and will contribute to the efforts of the international community towards a secure future,’ the congratulatory letter reads.
