Speaker of the Seimas congratulates Estonia on Independence Day

On behalf of the Seimas and on her own behalf, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, extended her congratulations to Lauri Hussar, President of the Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia, and the Members of the Riigikogu on the 106th anniversary of Estonian independence.

‘Today we reflect on the importance of preserving freedom and independence. It is encouraging to see that we work together to strengthen our inter-parliamentary cooperation through bilateral meetings, regional events as well as joint visits. 

I am certain that, in these trying times, we will stay united both in the pursuit of security of our countries and in the fight against the trampling of democratic values, the breaches of international law, and the violations of human rights and freedoms in the international arena’, the congratulatory letter reads.
